Easter 2014

As we are finding out, living away from home is a wonderful experience. So many new things to do and enjoy. With all of the new comes a certain amount of missing home so when the neighbors throw a little egg hunt your way you just don't say no. Easter was really down played during our years in Qatar so it was nice to have it back in the open- in fact we just had the week off from school - yo queiro semana santa! Shayne and Diane live downstairs and I can't thank them enough for putting on an eggsellent day- thanks you two.

I'm just glad we don't live in a compound with electric fencing! Enjoy the photos
and they are off- Luca makes the tactical error of hitting the backyard barefoot

The savvy veteran- others look down- she looks up.

Excuse me but I would like to return this teenager for my Wilder. Holy cow she is growing up!

What'd you get?

Kris, the pink bunny mask is fooling no one- you can't egg hunt with the kids!

You can tell Millie and Wilder come from Qatar as they instinctively seek out the shade.

Diane: "who ate the ears off my chocolate bunny?"
Wilder: "he did"

Wilder and Aidan getting ready for the egg and spoon race

Millie, sharpening her elbow for the egg and spoon race. Ryan- eye of the tiger baby, eye of the tiger.

If you cover his eyes then baby Franco does a fine egg impersonation.

Happy kids, great friends

The final event was the water balloon toss... eggsellent.
Dru, with the look that says "I hope I don't drop this."

Dru, with the look that says "you better not drop this"
Wilder and Elka went on to score a fine victory- what determination and concentration etched on those faces!

After the kids had the stage it was time for some adults. What follows next just might be one of the greatest collections of sporting photography the world has ever seen. If you enjoy the drama, intensity, and passion of the olympics then be warned- this might make you tear up a smidge.

Scott and Diane- the throwers extraordinaire.
Shayne and Innes- catchers with such aplomb!

just beautiful... pass the tissue.
