PROM 2015

Back in Colorado we hosted a Prom for big kids. It was fun- probably more fun than my first prom. Last year after seeing the 5th floor gym Lisa said we should have another one. She was right the venue was perfect and the other participants were down right funky.

This wasn't just a chance for me to get my mustache on- it was a reminder of why we have had so much fun teaching abroad- the other teachers. They are one groovy mix of folks- so happy to call them friends.

Cutest couple

Everyone was talking about the pregnant prom queen!

Awkward prom portraits

theres nothing to do here

is not something you hear kids say at the beach. They kept themselves quite busy at Siete Mares.

Building a fort- with traps

Graham launching into the pool

Ryan found the world's best hide n seek spot.

"So I've been thinking of the whole geopolitical spectrum and really think its time for a dynamic paradigm shift. Let me tell you more" (author's note: this kid is going places- you heard it here first)

Franco then finds the world's best cause and effect toy.
Turn handle

Magic water comes forth.

Milly and Mila, quite natural at the bar, naturally I would credit their fathers.

Yeah its just a blender- but it was a really cool blender.

Shawna put together a pirate's treasure map.

Running for clues

Arrrrrrrr- found it!

Oh and there was the ocean as well

Luca found what he thought was a jellyfish.

His excitement waned however when he was told it might be a silicon implant of some popular variety.

siete mares y tres dias y cinquinta profes egual...

7 beaches plus 3 days plus 50 teachers equals a fantastic time.

I think the maths add up. Last weekend we got to go to Siete Mares for one last time. It was a three day weekend and Shayne Cokerdem wisely booked the whole place earlier in the year. It was overrun with teachers and kids and I can't thank Shayne enough for putting it together. In fact I just can't thank all of our friends down here enough- I was aiming for a picture of each of them but just know I missed a few. Thanks for being our amigos.

Darren pointing to the place where one could usually find Mike.

Anne is Luca's awesome teacher and John is a fellow sloth aficionado.
