A bit behind on this one but what the heck. Being sporty people we have recently enjoyed some Venezuelan baseball with Dan and Molly, a soccer birthday party for Luca's friend Carlos, a bowling birthday party for Graham the rockstar 5 year old amigo de Wilder, and a little golf at the local driving range.
I love this stadium: look to the left- beisbol!- look to the right- el avila y guacamayas
Watch these two- they are shady characters (not Luca and I- Dan and Molly) (actually you should probably keep your eyes on Luca and Molly- they are trouble, Dan and I are upstanding gentlemen) |
A great idea for a birthday party down here is a nothing but soccer party. These kids played soccer for 3 hours straight in the sun- I tell you I was knackered just watching!
Look at that spacing!
I just don't know how they had the energy. Well it might have been the donuts, sure.
In what could be considered a stand alone sport in itself- the pinata is an art form down here. The kids know what is to be done when you hand them the beating stick.
Luca y Alejandro, amigos.
Bowling is fun, birthdays are fun, solid sugar bowling pins are fun. Grahams party was, as you might guess, fun.
Nadjib- puro X
At the ball game earlier, we were leaving and spotted these jerseys. They belong to the 1940 era Cerveceria Caracas team (who later became the Leones de Caracas). Couldn't pass them up and they also make a darn fine driving range shirt.
Those in the know will notice that Luca is wearing a Leones throwback jersey while sporting Magallanes socks. This would be akin to wearing Boston red sox sox while wearing a Yankee jersey. What can I say- the kid promotes peace wherever he goes. Can't we all just get along?
