New Zealand Consulate

We hang with very important people. High rollers, world class athletes, you know real upper crust. We also travel with the Simpsons who are about as high roller as you can get. I figure that Mike and Stacey are the de facto New Zealand Ambassadors in Venezuela. I figure this for a few reasons: 1. Mike has yet to admit he is the ambassador, and he is so humble that wouldn't it be just like him to not tell anyone. 2. Franco. He would be the perfect international man of mystery. The kid just turned 1 and already has 2 passports and is fluent in spanish, english, and eyebrow. 3. They might just be the only New Zealanders in this country making them by default the highest ranking of their country.

In any case- we love the Simpsons and traveling with them. It can't be easy spending so much time with us and they have now spent significant time with us in the Dominican Republic, Trinidad, Ecuador, and now Curucao. That should get them a better embassy plaque for their front door right?
This is our favorite game to play with Franco. It is called follow him around and guess what he wants to do next.

We spent an hour at the Curucao Slavery museum. I wasn't sure how Millie and Luca would process this heavy topic. They were quick to see it in pretty simple terms: bullies suck. Upon leaving I said to Luca "You have to remember that as horrible as people can be to each other, they can be just as good. You need to decide which side you'll stand up and fight for." He said "I think I'll fight for the good guys."

"Why no we aren't professional models paid to sit at this lunch spot for a magazine advert, but thanks for asking."

One day we went to the aquarium. Great stuff: a tube you could stand in, in the middle of a fish tank, touching pools, and dolphins!

Guess who farted

I love this next series of photos because of the different expressions

"It's not really that big of a deal, I see shells all the time at home"

Thanks Mike and Stacey- this will not be our last trip together.
